Image
HAPPY NEW YEAR friends! Hard to believe it's 2015 already, although it is easier for time to seem like it happened quickly AFTER it has transpired.  I hope ya'll have had a safe, memorable and happy time celebrating!! I want to thank all my family and friends new and old for contributing to a special year for me! Anything you're proud of that happened in 2014? Anything you're hoping to accomplish in 2015? Here are some resolutions/goals for 2015: -Finish and release both the "Rapologues" album and my first book "Water Coolers & Campfires" -have more of my work published (poetry or prose) -Make an official AllOne website -Release more video content (of all sorts) -Continue to read/Write/workout every day -Spend more time with family  -use my phone less and/or more like a phone -learn from everything/everyone -be loving, gentle and present -be open to new experiences -don't fear failure, only inactivity 2014 ...

6/11 Back in NY, Albany Day One

Image
Glad to have you back diligent reader! When last we spoke, it was Wednesday the 11 th. I'd arrived in an overcast Albany, a place I'd never been, with a poetry reading on the horizon and no solid plans of where I'd be staying the night. Luckily, both of those things panned out in my favor! Lets experience the Capital city shall we? Welcome to Albany (the helpfulness of strangers)   I was still nervous when I'd arrived at the Albany bus station at 5pm because no attempt to stay with people in town panned out either through other friends or messages I'd sent on  Couchsurfing.org . I sent out one last mass text to some friends who I knew lived in upstate NY, asking if they had any friends in Albany, and explaining my predicament. My good friend Jill Drwal was texting me and had given me a call saying that her friend Danielle lived in Albany and had a potential place for me to stay but she'd have to wait until around 7 O'clock or so I know if t...

6/7/14 Skateboarding, exploring and improv theater in NYC!

Hello my inspired and inspiring friends!    I had two days without Wi-fi so I'm catching up with myself!  I've got a light day today so here we go... I'd like to talk about my fun experiences in New York City with my friend Doug on Saturday!  I may not report this in a linear way, rather cluster it into ideas and concepts to make it more cohesive.... A brief back story of  Doug Widick      Doug is a really talented guy, a multi-instrumentalist, beat-boxer, comedic rapper, improvisational actor, teacher and writer among other things.  I initially met him when  Kaila Mullady , who beat-boxes for his hip-hop comedy improvisational group North Coast, brought him out to my February performance at Alphabet Lounge.  He was really encouraging and generous with his emphatic support of my work.  He wanted to introduce me to a lot of people and have me on his "positive hip hop mix-tape" (we did end up writing and recording a song abou...

6/6/14 Onederlust day 1: Providence

Image
Onederlust Day One (in Providence!!) Missing my first ride                   The first day of the tour has come and gone, much like the sleep that kicked off the first of many nights to come!  Grandma and I both turned in around 11:30 and woke up at 5:30 Friday morning so I could catch a 6:45 train from Inwood to Penn Station.  It was one of the only trains that she could get me to the city in time due to her work schedule.  I showered, changed, packed and she graciously made me a delicious and simple breakfast, peach preserves on a bagel and a cheese omelet.  While I'm scarfing this down, a testament both to her great cooking and my voracious appetite, talking between bites, I look up to respond to her sudden gasp, and see the clock is reading 5 minutes to the time we have to leave on the train!  So we jumped in the car and headed to the train station anyway, where I was thankfully able to jump on a slightly later...
