Memphis... A whole slew of surprises! Shortly after my last post, we arrived at Java Cabana Open Mic... I looked over and my mind blanked out. I kept looking and a girl looked remarkably like Heather... That couldn't be! But the girl next to her is Heather's sister..Oh my god.. It is her! And so with that.. A huge smile burst across my blank and baffled face and I ran to hug and kiss her. They had driven 17 hours to visit me as a surprise, all the while fooling me about her plans and whereabouts via text! Such an overwhelming feeling of love.. I definitely found a keeper! We watched some talented acts, and met a nice guy Gabriel who hosted the open mic and gad his birthday the next day and invited us to jam, which we had to politely decline! My friends! Good evening from Memphis! I am actually happier and a bit more awake then this rather poor phone photo lets on! We just got off an eight hour bus ride (that I spent sitting cramped next to an odiferous fellow who had Forrest Gump's voice) it has been gloomy and rainy all day and we arrived in a brisk and drizzling Memphis night so I have yet to be able to share any interesting or beautiful landscapes or landmarks! On the ride I did enjoy finishing Girl Who Kicked The Hornets Nest which finalized Stieg Larssen's briliant trilogy! I listened to At The Drive In's "Relationship Of Command" Sadistik's "Flowers For My Father" and "The Art Of Dying" The Vigilance Committee's "It's Deliverance" and Illmaculate's "The Raincheck Mixtape" I finished writing a verse for a yet unknown project or song and I started reading a collection of Nick Adams stories by Ernest Hemingway that I picked up in D.C....

Hello friends and farewell Texas! So this is what a real life roadrunner looks like! (NOTICE: not "real live" because it is taxidermy at the Perot museum). The Perot Museum is gorgeous and one of the coolest and most informative and fun museums I've been to maybe ever, I've enclosed a lot of photos and cannot convey how wonderful that place is! We went to eat at a place called The Spaghetti Warehouse and had great chicken parmasean! Today marks our last morning in Dallas and Texas overall as we embark on our lengthy 8 hour drive to Memphis at 11:30! Texas overall has been a fantastic experience and our longest stay in a state where we played every single day and met alot of people! Yesterday we went food shopping at Aldi with Nigel and went to a cool thrift store where Alexa bought some toy instruments! I enjoyed a root beer called Triple X and read alot since it was rainy and cold out (I know, in TX.. Who knew?!) and made significant progress on a new song! I encou...

Hello from Dallas! This is a photo of Alexa's friend Nigel who we are staying with alongside his boyfriend Will. He is playing on an instrument called a vibraphone which I have never seen live before and it is breathtaking! Such a startling instrument and his command of it is impressive as well as his voice! We are performing at a place called Buzzbees! Really interesting spot and we will be in Dallas until thursday... everything seems to be in order for a great time! I closed my set with "Revealed (Practical)" and realized it was the first time I played it on the tour! Stomach full from a comped dinner and eager to spend time with new friends in a new city! Happy monday my friends! Alexa and I are on our way to Dallas from Austin, we have a show tonight and are meeting with her friend Nigel when we arrive! Kent and Paula were incredible hosts and made both Alexa and I feel genuinely at home. My sickness is abating which is a relief and it is completely thanks to the care that Kent and Paula provided! After an amazing homcooked meal last night we spent the night at Baker Street Bar and grill's open mic and met and enjoyed a lot of Austin's genuine talent. Alexa and I both performed to a lot of good reception and despite my feeling under the weather I performed satisfactorily! We are now more than halfway through our trip and I have to say it has been a beautiful, if busy and challenging, experience. I miss my family, friends, and Heather of course. Some of the shows are sparse but when in uncharted territory that is to be expected. I already find myself plotting another tour. But not before I share a new project with ya'l...

Hello From Austin! After saying goodbye to our new friend Nick in Houston who showed us a fantstic time and was the best host, we left Houston and headed to Austin at 8! With little sleep after a late though wonderful night at East Side Social Center full of interestin music and wonerful people, I was exhausted on the ride but could not sleep! We got in this afternoon and got picked up by Alexa's wonderful relative Kent, a loving and open minded generous guy who took us to eat at a vegan food trailer, evidently a popular way to eat around here! The weather was gorgeous but i hadn't been feeling well all morning, feverish and sore throat. Probably (typically) i am overworked and underslept! We returned to their gorgeous house and met Kent's wife Paula, they are a generous couple who are well traveled and cultured!
